Dr. Elkin Nurmammadov is Associate Dean of College of Arts and Sciences and since 2009, Assistant Professor of Economics at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy. He has a BA in Business Administration from Bogazici University of Istanbul, Turkey (2004) and a PhD in Economics from the University of Georgia of Athens, USA (2009), where he taught introductory Microeconomics and Macroeconomics as a PhD candidate. At ADA, Dr. Nurmammadov teaches courses on Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and International Trade and Finance to master-level students and various short-term economics courses to participants of the executive education programs.
Dr. Nurmammadov’s areas of interest include macroeconomics, economic growth and development, international economics and financial development. His current research focuses on the relationship between central bank size and growth and comparative performance of economies in transition in post-crisis period. His book chapter titled “Challenges of Central Banks in Oil-Exporting Countries: The Case of Azerbaijan” is forthcoming in Export Perils.
