ADA Majlis is a series of analytical discourse, which extends one of the key missions of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA). It draws attention to Azerbaijan's emergence as a regional leader, creates a thought-provoking public forum on current global issues and their impact on Azerbaijan.
It has three components: Majlis, Global Perspectives and Friday Hearings.
Officials and strategists within Afghanistan, within NATO and beyond are divided on several key issues, such as the need for dialogue with the Taliban, on weighing up of military vs civilian, security vs development and engagement vs withdrawal options. It appears that the one key issue that everyone agrees on, is that security, stability and development in Afghanistan are intrinsically linked to regional security, and, in particular, to its relationship with its southern neighbour, Pakistan.
ADA Majlis takes a closer look at Afghanistan, the region and the role of the international community together with eminent international experts. Joining moderator Fariz Ismailzade and ADA Rector Hafiz Pashayev, are Hikmet Chetin, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and Envoy to Afghanistan, Tahir Amin, Professor, Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan, and Sayed Aqa, an Afghan independent expert.
