Immerse Yourself Into Traditions

Over the years, ADA University has established its signature campus-wide events which reflect its core values, mission, and vision. You can join and become a part of these ADA traditions by participating or helping to run these signature events.

Honor Code Ceremony

We kick start each academic year with an Honor Code Ceremony on September 15th on our Great Lawn. It coincides with the Day of Knowledge in Azerbaijan. ADA University claims its Honor Code to be its “constitution”- the academic community, including all faculty and students, view integrity as the basis for learning and intellectual advancement.

The ADA Honor Code contains rules and procedures essential to guide the conduct of faculty and students.

Get Involved

Life on ADA University campus is as rich and diverse as the city it is located in. Here, you are in charge of your own future. Follow your passion, develop your talent and grow by championing your cause. You may have chosen ADA University in pursuit of an innovative learning environment upholding solid core values. But what you find here is a community where students engage equally with peers who have their own distinctive viewpoints to contribute to the intellectually challenging culture of the University.

Student clubs are a vital part of ADA life. Formed around a variety of causes and interests, their activities enrich our community. With more than 30 student clubs, there are many opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to get involved. Here are the list of clubs:

Do you and other students have an idea for a forum where you would like to advocate a cause, interest or skill? Meet a representative of the Office of Student Services to discuss your idea. The Office of Student Services can introduce you to many exciting ways to connect to the ADA community. Participation in campus life will take you to new friendships, new experiences and help you grow as a leader and team member, while uncovering your creative spirit.

Appreciation Days

The Academic Year continues with another tradition of week-long Appreciation Days in October, where we enforce values of communication, collaboration, loyalty, tolerance, truth, gratitude, and respect. Days of the week are dedicated to highlight special words of “Salam”, “Please”, “Sorry” and “Thank you” with the last day celebrating all core values of the ADA community. Fun activities across the campus build the sincere momentum of the week in order to remind us that being polite and having good manners make us all more considerate, responsive, open and positive as ADA family.

Student Government Elections

Each Fall semester, many different positions open up for campus leadership opportunities in the Undergraduate and Graduate Student Governments. These opportunities are fulfilled by students who vie to become candidates and participate in campus-wide debates, followed by elections. Our Office of Student Services assists with the Student Government elections. The ADA Student Government is comprised of President, Vice President and senators representing various schools and cohort constituents. The Student Government advocates best interests.

Career Week and Fair

ADA University hosts its Annual Employability Week and Career Fair at the end of the academic year. The two-week-long event features numerous panels on the latest trends in employment and industry outlooks, as well as presentations given by different employers. Employability Week provides a unique opportunity for our students to get noticed by participating firms, companies and organizations interested in hiring new talent. Hosted at the Student Center, where more than one hundred companies put up their stands, ADA Career Fair lets our students network with potential employers, learn about jobs and internship opportunities and become aware of critical job skills.

International Festiva

The annual ADA International Festival celebrates the cultural diversity of our community. All nations represented on campus host booths with ethnic food and artifacts and dress up in folk costumes. There are live performances all day long in our Large Auditorium. The Festival allows students to take a trip around the world without ever leaving campus. One of the most attended traditions at ADA, the Festival is organized by the Office of International Students and supported by the diplomatic missions of countries accredited in Baku. This family-oriented signature event has become a treasured memory every year.

Novruz Youth Festival

The ADA community celebrates the arrival of spring with our Novruz Youth Festival in mid-March. The beloved national holiday the festival is named after marks a three thousand-year-old Azerbaijani tradition and the vernal equinox. The Festival starts with tree planting in the adjacent Dede Gorgud Park and continues with festivities that turn the campus Flag Square into “maidan”. A stage is set for music performances, and tents go up to serve holiday pastries and tea. Students dance around a bonfire and conclude the celebration with jumping over a fire to leave all troubles in the outgoing season. The festival comes Just before midterm exams

Citizenship and Social Responsibility Day

ADA University honors winners of HZT Award, named after Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, during the first week of May at a grandiose event on the Great Lawn. The exclusive formal night is a chance for students to get dressed up and celebrate in style ADA values of civic engagement, self-reflection and entrepreneurship. Award is given in two categories: Challenges of Society and Challenges of Industry. Among many runner-ups, three top social responsibility and three top start-up projects are announced as winners. Student groups in charge of projects get monetary prizes for promoting a sense of citizenship and entrepreneurship.

Although united by common values, every ADA University student is unique. We understand that everyone has different needs to succeed.
