The 5th ADA-EU Summer School successfully ended

The 5th ADA-EU Summer School was held during 10-21 June 2019 at ADA University in partnership of the ADA University Center of Excellence in EU Studies, DAAD (Germany) and University of Bologna (Italy).
 
This year’s ADA-EU Summer School has been running under the central theme of “EU Eastern Neighborhood in the context of the Future of the EU” aiming at to discuss current challenges that are shaping the main determinants of the EU and their impacts on ENP and EaP strategies and celebrated 10th year anniversary of the Eastern Partnership policy initiative.

By bringing together students, practitioners, young researchers, civil servants from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Germany, Italy and the UK, the 5th Summer School created an academic platform for transmitting cutting-edge knowledge in broad sub-topics on the history, integration, functioning, and the foreign and security policy of the EU  as well as newly emerging socio-political wave of Europe, by encapsulating broad spectrum of expert lectures.
 
In his opening speech, H.E. Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of EU Delegation to Azerbaijan stated “By the end of two weeks, the attendees will enhance their expertise and gain a better understanding on the EU affairs. They will gain a deeper perception of digitalization, competitive business, and such like topics via taking full advantage of the lectures of distinguished speakers and high-quality presentations”.
 
The sessions of the two-week program featured inter alia the group presentations, interactive discussions, and debates. Besides, the comprehensive and diverse agenda of the Summer School included the visits of the attendees to Milli Majlis (National Assembly of Azerbaijan Republic) and Heydar Aliyev center.
