The 31st International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2019) was successfully concluded with a glittering award ceremony of outstanding winners on August 10 in the capital Baku.
The prestigious Olympiad, which was kickstarted on August 4, created unprecedented opportunities for young IT talents to showcase their skills and provoke interest among prospective IT students.
Delivering his welcoming remarks, Chairman of IOI 2019, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon the growing demand of bright and fresh minds in IT sphere, highlighted the role of IT in changing the world to the positive direction.
IOI president Greg Lee appreciated contestants as the ambassadors of their countries.
The top 3 medalists of IOI 2019 are:
- 1st place: Benjamin Qi (USA)
- 2nd place: Ildar Gainullin (Russia)
- 3rd place: Zixiang Zhou (Canada)
Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov honored Benjamin Qi, the gold medalists and the absolute IOI winner for two consecutive years in a row with a special reward.
IOI is the premier IT competition that unfolds algorithmic and analytical skills of school students, unleash student’s innovative talent and also provides worldwide recognition to the winners.
