Dean of the School of International Affairs (SPIA) of ADA University Dr. Anar Valiyev and SPIA alumnae and independent researcher Ms. Narmina Mamishova, have collaborated for researching Azerbaijan’s foreign policy towards Russia after the gaining sovereignty. The joint article titled, “Azerbaijan’s foreign policy towards Russia since independence: compromise achieved” was published in Southeast European and Black Sea Studies journal.
Through the article, the authors provide uncompromising analysis of mainstream neorealist approaches on former Soviet states’ alignment choices – balancing and bandwagoning toward Russia.
The research addresses the following question: what is the foreign policy model undertaken by modern Azerbaijan in its relations with Russia?
