The Center for Excellence in EU Studies launched a new course

The ADA University Center of Excellence in EU Studies together with the University of Bergamo (Italy) launched its new professionalization courses for Azerbaijani civil servants under the theme of "Contrast to Terrorism and Prevention of Radicalisation". The Professionalisation Course is organized within international project PRaNet implemented since January 2019 by ADA University, Bergamo University, and Setif 2 University (Algeria).
 
The course which will be run by the international academia and experts’ team started with the opening ceremony held on September 30.
 
The course will increase the capacities of the civil servants on the inter-agency partnership and implementation of counter-radicalization actions at national, regional and international levels. 
 
The ceremony started with opening speeches about the structure of the course delivered by ADA University Vise Rector Fariz Ismailzade and by Michelle Brunelli from Bergamo University.
 
Ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan, Augusto Massari talked about the real definition of terrorism and radicalization, recalled the lessons to learns from history. Ambassador Massari highly appreciated the role of Azerbaijan in counter-terrorism and radicalism efforts.
 
"Despite the differences among the nations, we are fighting in the same direction against terrorism. Our religious, national and racial aspects encourage us to create a strong partnership in global scale," said Dr. Naouel Abdellatif from Setif 2 University (Algeria).
 
The chargé d'affaires of the Algerian Embassy to Azerbaijan Ridha Nebias talked about the efforts and national strategy of Algeria in anti-terrorism threats.
                                                     
 "The course will run in 2 different stages and we have already launched a master's degree program in the framework of the project," informed Nargiz Ismailzade, director of the Center of Excellence of the ADA University.
 
The course will be conducted till October 18, 2019, at ADA University and will enlarge the knowledge of participants on the topics including History of Terrorism, International Law and European Union Legal Framework, Business security, Types of Terrorism.
