The closing ceremony of the EU-funded project “Strengthening Teaching and Research capacity at the ADA University'' held on December 12 December 2019, at ADA University.
The project started from April of 2017, was implemented in the consortium of GOPA Consultancy company, German Academic Exchange Service (Germany), Maastricht School of Management (Netherlands) and Bologna University (Italy).
Addressing the event, the Vice-rector of ADA University Fariz Ismailzade informed the audience about the general outcomes of the project, emphasized the importance of achieving this kind of large-scale collaboration at ADA University.
Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Ambassador Kestutis Yankauskas welcomed the guest, congratulated the partners for the successful completion of the project.
''The 30 months-long project that received 2,2 million euro fund achieved outstanding outputs in four strategic directions:
-Achieving institutional development of CEEUS
-Expanding ADA's teaching and learning capacity
-Improving ADA's research capacity
-Reinforcing CPD potential and outreach activities'', said Ambassador Yankauskas.
The Vice-rector of ADA University of Academic Affairs, Dr. Vafa Kazdal noted that this project will immensely contribute to the further improvement of ADA University.
The representative of the GOPA consultancy company Simone Goncalves spoke about on the GOPA's activity in Azerbaijan.
The team leader of the project, Georg Simet delivered a detailed speech regarding the outputs and training series which were conducted through the project. Mr. Simet said:
'' The main outputs of the project are:
- Overall 12 trips to 23 regions
-Upgrading ADA University's integration with the European Research Area and Research and Development Programs
-Development of research plans and strategies for submission to two Jean Monnet programs
-Preparation of a module plan for the Master's degree in European Studies
-Training faculty & staff members on Blackboard digital, innovative and online teaching program
-Training towards achieving international Accreditation for MBA programs.
During the closing ceremony, director of the Center of Excellence in EU Studies (CEEUS) Nargiz Ismayilova, dean of Business School Elkin Nurmammadov, dean of School of Public & International Affairs Anar Valiyev, director of Faculty Affairs & Academic Administration Samira Rasulova, instructor of School of Public & International Affairs Shafag Mehraliyeva reported the main outputs achieved in the framework of the project.
In his concluding remarks, Rector of ADA University, Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev expressed his sincere appreciation and congratulations to the task holders of the project.
