H.E. Mr. Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy spoke at ADA University on July 18, 2018 as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan. President was hosted by ADA University's "Global Perspectives" lecture series. The event was moderated by Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, Rector of ADA University who described it as one of the most important events this year.
President Sergio Mattarella noted that Italy supports peaceful resolution of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on the UN Security Council resolutions and documents adopted by European institutions as well as international law. The Italian President said his country supports peace and development in the region.
“Italy is committed to the peaceful settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the respect for UN Security Council resolutions and the norms and principles of international law,” said Italian President Sergio Mattarella during his speech at ADA University as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
Rector Pashayev presented a medal of ADA University and a copy of his book "Manifesto of an Ambassador" in Italian language to President Sergio Mattarella.
The event was concluded with certificate award ceremony to the winners of Italian government scholarships. Selected 17 Azerbaijani students will study at Italian universities.
