ADA University hosts International Leadership Research Forum – Early Childhood (ILRF EC) Conference

29.08.2022
The forum participants first visited Kindergarten No.157 and observed the teaching process there. After the participants' visit to the touristic places of Baku, the forum started its work.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Ulviyya Mikayilova, Dean of the Faculty of Education of ADA University, highlighted that the forum promotes the exchange of knowledge and skills acquired in early childhood education, provides pedagogical connections and networking among researchers in this field, and provides a platform to share the outcomes of their research.

Addressing the forum, Dr. Vafa Kazdal, Vice Rector of Academic Affairs at ADA University, stated that to ensure the future development of young people, we should pay attention to their mental development at an early age. According to the "Strategy for socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026", approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the rate for 1-5-year-olds enrolled in preschool education will be increased to 50 percent.

Rufat Azizov, Director of the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stressed a remarkable increase in the percentage of children benefiting from early education, which has been observed in the last 4 years. So, this indicator is currently higher than 80 percent while it was 26 percent in 2018.

Elina Fonse, the head of the forum representing Finland, noted that it is very gratifying that the first face-to-face meeting was held in Baku, precisely at ADA University, after holding the forum in an online format during the pandemic.

Taking into account her observations in the kindergarten that they visited in Baku and the differences in early childhood education between Finland and Azerbaijan, E. Fonse concluded that Azerbaijan mainly involves experts with master's degrees in this field.

It should be noted that International Leadership Research Forum will last until August 31.
