17th International Conference on Application of Information and Communication Technologies launches at ADA University

The opening ceremony of the 17th IEEE International Conference on Application of Information and Communication Technologies (AICT2023) took place at ADA University.

The aim of the conference is to bring together business people, researchers, scientists, software architects, and industry professionals to discuss innovative ideas and diverse topics on the next generation of information technologies and services. Scientists from 26 countries of the world joined the conference, which will last until October 20.

At the conference jointly organized by ADA University, the George Washington University (USA), Politecnico di Torino (Italy), and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, about 60 articles were accepted out of more than 140 articles submitted for presentation from different countries.

Rector of ADA University, Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, delivered welcoming remarks and expressed his satisfaction that scientists with innovative ideas from all over the world came together at ADA University for cooperation and exchange of knowledge.

Prof. Matteo Sonza Reorda, Program Chair of AICT 2023 and Vice Rector for Research at Politecnico di Turino, spoke about the role of the conference in deepening progress in this period of dynamic changes.

Then a video address by Prof. John Lach, Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the George Washington University, was presented.

Later, Mr. Rasim Aliquliyev, Vice President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and Director of the Institute of Information Technologies at ANAS noted that the conference will play a significant role in highlighting current scientific-theoretical issues in information technology and the information society and proposing solutions.

Mr. Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President for the Caspian region, Communications and External Affairs at BP stressed that collaboration and new ideas will be crucial to the long-term success of technological advancements.

Mr. Rashad Bayramov, Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated that conducting this conference demonstrates the importance attached by Azerbaijan to the ICT sector. Our efforts to construct an academy in accordance with international standards, utilizing the expertise of developed nations in the field of ICT, are another illustration of the significance we place on this direction.

Dr. Abzatdin Adamov, Dean of the School of Information Technologies and Engineering and General Chair of AICT 2023, emphasized the significance of conducting such events and discussing scientific and technical innovations there.

Following the opening remarks, the session was held to discuss the latest trends and innovations in the field of information and communication technologies.

Later, the IEEE Women in Engineering Panel Discussion featured women who shared their inspirational career journeys, emphasizing how they overcame obstacles in the workplace and adapted to the rapidly changing technological environment.

It should be noted that sessions devoted to "Data science and advanced analytics", "Machine learning and other artificial intelligence techniques", "Software engineering", "Cyber security and best practices" will be held in various sections of the international conference, and reports will be presented accordingly.
