Dr. Fuzuli Aliyev from the School of Business attended the 26th Finance Symposium organized by the Financial Science Platform at the Sivas Cumhuriyet University in Türkiye. This is an annual flagship finance symposium in Turkic world organized in different universities each year bringing together academics and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making. The 26th Symposium was attended by the University acting rector, city mayor, banking-finance sector, and other officials. Keynote speeches delivered by the representatives from the Central Securities Depository of the Turkish capital markets, The Banks Association of Türkiye, and Turkish Capital Markets Association.
Dr. Aliyev presented their co-authored research with ADA MBA alumnus Nijat Alishov, "The Impact of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Factors on Corporate Financial Performance in Emerging Markets." The study examines the relationship between environmental, social, and governance activities and financial performance of corporations in emerging markets. The research was discussed with peer academicians, practitioners, and experts, and decided to be submitted for publication in a prestigious journal in the field.
The symposium program included research presentations, academic roundtables, discussions as well as cultural visits to museums, historical sites and city attractions.
