We are delighted to present you with recent publications from ADA University School of Business professors, Dr. Mugabil Isayev and Dr. Omar Farooq.
Their first co-authored article, “The moderating role of shadow banking on the finance-growth nexus,” was shared in the Applied Economics Letters, a peer-reviewed journal indexed in the Web of Science, SSCI core collection. According to their research, financial development contributes positively to economic growth, and additionally, shadow banking strengthens the positive relationship between financial development and economic growth.
In the other article, Dr. Mugabil Isayev and Dr. Omar Farooq share insights in their co-authored article titled "Shadow banking and non-performing loans: international evidence" indicates that banks headquartered in countries with high shadow banking activity have fewer non-performing loans (NPLs) than otherwise similar banks headquartered in countries with low shadow banking activity. Our professors' research also demonstrates that the stringency of banking regulations weakens the relationship between shadow banking and NPLs.
The article was published in the Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance, a peer-reviewed journal indexed in the Web of Science.
