Certificate Program on Applied Educational Psychology

The program’s mission is to empower practitioners working with children (psychologists, educators, social workers, etc.) to excel in their roles, promote evidence-based practices, and enhance the well-being and academic success of children and school communities by developing and providing professional growth opportunities for practitioners.

Program goals:

  • Enhance professional development by providing practitioners with opportunities to expand their knowledge, skills and competencies in the areas of assessment of needs of children, intervention, consultation, and collaboration.
  • Promote evidence-based practice by providing practitioners with the resources that enable them to integrate research findings and best practices into their work with children, families, and schools.
  • Foster professional collaboration by preparing practitioners to facilitate collaboration and networking among psychologists, educators, and other stakeholders to promote interdisciplinary teamwork and holistic support for children’s academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Cultivate cultural competence by preparing practitioners to develop cultural competence and effectively address the diverse needs of children from different backgrounds.

Program outcomes:

  • Graduates of the program will be able to design and implement interventions that significantly improve student learning outcomes and emotional well-being. 
  • Graduates of the program will advance in their careers as educational psychologists, counselors, or other related roles, contributing positively to their educational institutions and communities.
  • Graduates will contribute to the development of innovative practices and programs in educational psychology, leveraging research and evidence-based strategies.

Psychologists, school counselors, special education teachers, school psychologists, teachers, educational administrators, mental health professionals, parents/caregivers, community organizations, and others seeking professional development in the field of applied educational psychology.

Final award:

ADA Certificate of successful completion. For the best performing students, a recommendation for admission to MA in Teaching and Learning program will be provided.

Duration and format

Classes will be taught face to face in the evenings of weekdays and on Saturday mornings.

Tuition and fees:

Tuition is 1500 AZN for the complete Certificate program. Admitted candidates are expected to pay in two installments due on September 25, 2024, and January 25, 2025. We do not have scholarships available for this program.

Admission requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
  • English proficiency. Minimum intermediate level of English is recommended. Candidates may be interviewed or asked to sit an exam to test English level.
