SITE's Assistant Professor and alumnus won the "Krzysztof Marasek Best Paper Award"

We are pleased to announce that the paper co-authored by Samir Rustamov, Assistant Professor of the School of Information Technologies and Engineering (SITE) and Emil Kalbaliyev, SITE's alumnus has been awarded the "Krzysztof Marasek Best Paper Award" at 8th Machine Intelligence and Digital Interaction – MIDI Conference.

Our team was awarded for their paper "Text Similarity Detection using Machine Learning algorithms with Character-based similarity measures".
Besides receiving outstanding recognition, the authors of the winning paper won a 500 EUR cash prize.

Samir Rustamov, who is also a director of CS Program of SITE collaborated with Emil Kalbaliyev who is about to apply to PhD programs of reputable universities, to conduct rigorous research on compiling the paper.

Since 2012, the MIDI Conference provided an opportunity for presenting design tools, methods, techniques, solutions, and innovative approaches.
This year's MIDI Conference taking place on December 9-10, was held online due to COVD-19 threats.
