Winners of ''Ukraine-Azerbaijan Diplomatic Relations'' Essay Competition were awarded

ADA University is pleased to announce the winners of the ''Ukraine-Azerbaijan Diplomatic Relations'' Essay Competition for Ukrainian university students.

Jointly organized by ADA University and the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the essay competition was implemented with the support of Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine in the course of October 25-November 25, 2020.
On December 14, 2020, the winners have been awarded at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine.

The organizers conducted a wide range of meetings and lectures on various aspects of Ukraine-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations in the framework of Competition. The two students who shared first place were invited to be participants in a summer school at ADA University, and the finalists of the competition were awarded prizes and honorary diplomas. The awarding ceremony was dedicated to the honorable memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Delivering a congratulatory speech at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Republic to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova stressed the importance of working with youngsters in the frame of development of Ukraine-Azerbaijan cooperation.

“Azerbaijan has recently restored the territorial integrity liberating Nagorno-Karabakh and its seven surrounding territories,” said Ambassador Akhundova by adding that our country held the long-awaited Victory Parade of Azerbaijanis on December 10.

Fariz Ismailzade, Vice-rector of ADA University virtually congratulated the winners and extended his best wishes to all participants.
“Ukraine and Azerbaijan are strategic partners, and our bilateral relations are developing more intensive every year. The implementation of the competition coincided with a historic event for Azerbaijan - the return of our territories previously occupied by Armenia,” noted Vice-rector Ismailzade.

The curator of the competition, representative of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism in Ukraine, Marina Goncharuk mentioned that this competition was a unique opportunity for Ukrainian students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge of Ukraine-Azerbaijan relations.
Darya Ponomarenko, one of the winners of the competition shared her excitement of being awarded and thanked the organizers for providing an opportunity to visit Baku in the future.

1st place:
Darya Ponomarenko, a student of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and Roman Popov, a student of the Kyiv University of Culture.

2nd place:
Natalya Lynnyk, a student of the Institute of Philology of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

3rd place:
Ruslana Matushik, a student of the West Ukrainian National University and Vladislav Spivak, a student of the Institute of International relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

4th place
Andrey Polivin, a student of the Kyiv National Linguistic University.

5th place:
Angelina Budnyk, a student of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
