Master of Science in Agricultural and Food System Management is an interdisciplinary graduate program jointly offered by ADA University and the University of Bologna. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex and interrelated issues in the food industry and to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to design and implement sustainable food systems.
The first year of the program covers a wide range of topics, including decision-making and strategy, quantitative methods, law, international economics, accounting, and food supply chain management. The second year of the program will start with a semester in Bologna, where they will cover primarily courses in food system economics and policy, global food marketing, agricultural and food policy, and bioenergy economics. The last semester of studies will be devoted to tailored courses on food industry in Azerbaijan, combining academic coursework with practical experience through company visits, case studies, and hands-on projects.
Overall, students will gain in-depth knowledge of the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of food systems, as well as the policies and regulations that govern them. Graduates of the AFSM program will be well-prepared for careers in the food industry, government, non-profit organizations, and international agencies, as well as for further academic research.
Prior work experience from applicants is preferred, but not required.
The first cohort of students will be admitted in Fall 2024.
Annual tuition and fees for the citizens of Azerbaijan is 6000 AZN and for Internationals 10500 AZN.
