Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning

Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning is a graduate program aimed at preparing high caliber teachers through building their knowledge, skills, and confidence to develop their own teaching in ways that will improve learner attainment. This program is designed both for those who plan to start their teaching career and those who are teaching in higher or secondary education.

Program objectives:

  • Become an effective teacher through self-reflection and self-evaluation;
  • Develop skills in educational program planning, design and evaluation;
  • Learn to use a range of teaching styles and methodologies;
  • Understand theoretical basis of adult learning and development.

  • Research Methods
  • Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
  • Social Sciences

The program is taught in the evenings and weekends throughout 5 semesters, including one Summer term. Alongside the major core courses, students take 3 elective courses after completing their first year. Close to the end of their studies, students apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios by working on a Capstone project. Students who choose research track write Master’s thesis during their second year.

Graduate Assistantship

Each year, top 5 students are selected to be part of the prestigious Graduate Assistantship Program. The selected students receive full tuition waiver and get a chance to work with School’s faculty member on a research project. Graduate Assistantship is awarded at the time of admissions and does not require a separate application.

Other financial aid options include merit-based scholarships for returning students and need-based support, Graduate Assistantship

Tuition and fees

Annual tuition and fees for the citizens of Azerbaijan is 5000 AZN and for Internationals 10500 AZN.
