Foundation Program
The Foundation Program is a year-long multidisciplinary program that is an integral part of all undergraduate degree programs. It encompasses courses in foundational areas such as the Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning, Writing and Information Literacy, as well as Public Speaking and Persuasion. It aids students in developing a broad base of knowledge and skills in these areas as well as competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and quantitative literacies necessary for their chosen field of study, effective communication to work with others in a professional and constructive manner, social-emotional skills, academic writing, and information literacy, as well as civic literacy and the capacity to be socially engaged learners.
The primary aim of the program is to develop socially responsible and globally aware students equipped with essential intellectual, ethical, and professional competencies necessary to excel in their studies and in future workplaces. It enables students to acquire skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary for studying, living, and working in increasingly multicultural, international, and globally interconnected contexts.
